There are many opportunities for engagement and to connect with the community at Wilderness. Each committee is grateful for any level of involvement, from nominating to helping out at one single event throughout the year or attending meetings and contributing to strategic direction, all support is equally as appreciated.

Parents and Friends Association
Wilderness Parents and Friends Association exists “to promote a sense of community amongst Wilderness School parents and between parents and staff members of the School.” This committee is for ‘friendship raising’ and ‘fun raising’, and plays a vitally important role within the School, hosting functions throughout the year. The P&F also sponsor the Raising Amazing Girls program where school and home partner in the journey to raise ‘amazing’ girls.

Friends of Music
The Friends of Music is a sub-group of the Parents and Friends. Parents, whose daughters are involved in the Music Program of the School, support the Music Department by assisting at functions with setup/packup, serving food/beverages, helping to sell tickets or Box Office duties. They are also involved with running an annual Music Dinner at which some students and some staff will perform. The purpose of this dinner is to celebrate the achievements of the students and staff in the Music Department and to raise funds to provide additional prizes at both Middle School and Senior School Speech Nights in recognition of the contributions of the girls.

Foundation Events Committee
The Foundation Events Committee coordinates an annual fundraising event for the Wilderness community. In the past our community have enjoyed themed cocktail parties, Gala Balls, fashion parades and movie nights all of which have raised significant funds for the Wilderness School Foundation.

Wilderness Rowing Club Parents and Friends Committee
The Wilderness Rowing Club Parents’ and Friends Committee is an integral part of rowing at Wilderness School. As well as financially supporting the sport, the Committee also assists in the logistics of the Rowing Club , such as towing the boat trailer, catering and supporting camps and regattas, hosting SA Rowing regattas (usually once every two years), organising social functions, welcoming new rowers and their parents, and providing any other support reasonably requested by the Head(s) of Rowing.
The Committee has two primary roles:

  • To promote the sport amongst all rowing parents, thereby creating a positive, socially active community which supports Wilderness rowers and coaches, as agreed with by the Head(s) of Rowing
  • To initiate and be responsible for any fundraising considered necessary for the operation of rowing in particular the acquisition of new equipment and any extraordinary maintenance as agreed with by the Head(s) of Rowing.

Wilderness Lacrosse Club Committee
The Wilderness Lacrosse Club Committee is made up of parents of past and present players. Members work together to ensure the smooth running of the club in order to provide the best possible avenues for players to achieve success at local, national and global levels.  A strong sense of community exists as girls from the age of 7, along with their families, through to our Old Scholars who continue to play under the Wilderness name, support each other in pursuit of enjoyment and excellence in Lacrosse. Coaching, equipment, fundraising and social functions form the basis of our work and input into any of these from any interested person is most welcome.

Old Scholars’ Association
The Old Scholars’ Association is the link between past students and the school and promotes fellowship between past students. The Old Scholars’ Association provides opportunities for past students to renew their friendships and maintain their ties with Wilderness. Events and fundraisers enable the Old Scholars to continue to support the School and our current students by connecting the past, the present and the future.
