The academic curriculum is at the core of our daily activities but life at Wilderness offers so much more.
Our extensive co-curricular offerings are vital because of the enrichment they offer to our girls. They allow them to pursue interests and skills beyond the classroom and engage in a wide variety of activities where they can discover new interests, strengths, make new friends, and set and achieve goals.
Our broad co-curricular program enhances educational possibilities for all girls and enriches the community life of the School.
Our extensive Music program offers girls the opportunity to gain an appreciation for music from a young age.
Wilderness offers diverse musical study and performance opportunities for girls to practise and share their talents. Girls also have the opportunity to participate and compete in festivals locally, interstate and overseas. Our music offerings include:
- Big Bands
- Brass Ensembles
- Clarinet Ensembles
- Guitar Ensembles
- Flute Ensembles
- String Orchestras
- Jazz Band and Choirs
- Concert Bands
- Saxophone Ensembles
- Symphonic Bands.
To further support our students’ development in music, individual tuition from qualified specialist instrumental staff is also available.
There are a number of additions to the curriculum which offer a wide range of opportunities both within and outside the classroom.
Lunch time clubs cater for interests as diverse as chess, writing, the environment, debating, junior theatre, private music lessons and community service.
Our extensive Sports program also provides opportunities for personal development.
We encourage every girl to participate at a level appropriate to her ability and to be able to evaluate her performance both at a personal and team level.
