As of this afternoon, our Year 12 students have reached the halfway mark of their exam period. I am sure that each student has entered the exam rooms with a mixture of understandable nervousness and hopefully, quiet confidence, due to the significant preparation and effort they have put in.

Today is World Teachers’ Day, which is a fitting day to thank our teaching staff for everything they do in the life of our school; their efforts extend beyond the classroom in many ways.

Tomorrow, a small cohort of adventurous learners (including six students and two staff) will return home to Australia after attending the Round Square International Conference.

Caring for each other, in particular our girls, is core to our purpose at Wilderness School. We have always been a community where unlimited kindness and respectful relationships are fundamental.

A long held Wilderness School tradition, in the latter part of Term 3, is the process our girls undertake to select their Year 11 peers who will represent each and every Wilderness girl next year as a senior leader of the School.

We are incredibly fortunate that our school was founded on such beautiful land, and in a city bursting with artistic, cultural and natural opportunities we can weave into the curriculum.

Welcome back to the Wilderness for Term 3.

Somebody can be a leader in their school, their year level, their classroom or their friendship group. What matters is for our girls to know that every day, they are already expressing and fostering crucial skills to lead.

In the past few weeks, I have seen reflected in the school activities the desire that we have for our girls to involve themselves in rich and diverse learning experiences.
