During week four, 24 Silver Duke of Edinburgh students embarked on their adventurous journey to Northern Ikara-Flinders Ranges. They planned and participated in a 4-night, 5-day hiking expedition along the Heysen Trail.
We were treated by some beautiful sunshine during the day and cool and calm starry nights. In total, the girls walked between 50-60kms over the week. The preparation for this camp involved weeks of route, menu and packing planning working in small groups, building on their teamwork skills to complete challenging tasks.
The girls faced hurdles throughout the week which they adapted to exceptionally and their resilience and courage shone. This trip tested the girls but showed what a great experience they can have by stepping outside of their comfort zone and becoming their true and adventurous selves.
