As we prepare for the October school holiday break, and begin thinking about the end of the year and all of the excitement it brings, we acknowledge that our Year 12s are approaching a very special time in their final year of school.

On Tuesday 5 September, we were delighted to host our annual Father’s Day Breakfast. There was a relaxed, happy atmosphere at the breakfast and clearly so much love and pride in the eyes of the attendees.

It has been a period of time filled with outreach, celebration and acknowledgement of achievement in our Junior School.

Safe travels to the Year 8 students who are heading to the Grampians on Sunday morning. They have spent time this week practising how to pitch their tents and a number of other skills they will need when they arrive at Roses Gap.

As we race towards the end of Term 3, I discussed with the Senior School girls at Assembly about three vital ingredients for success in their academic journeys—these being persistence, grit and the importance of strong relationships with their teachers as the assessment workload increases.

Over the exeat weekend, our international boarders enjoyed a special trip to Melbourne.

The annual Middle and Senior School Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 8 September at the SA Athletics Stadium.

The capabilities of our students amaze me every day. This term, I have witnessed our girls take part in band, string and piano competitions and perform together on a huge stage at the most amazing standard.

Over the past two terms, Wilderness students have participated in a number of United Nations (UN) Youth Events, including the Model UN (known as the EVATT competition) and the UN Youth Young Leaders Summit on Sustainability.
