Boarders Exeat Weekend
Welcome back to what is undoubtedly going to be a very busy Term 4 in our Junior School! With a welcome return to some warmer weather, we look forward to seeing our girls return to school on Monday morning after the October break.
Summer uniforms may now be worn, with our usual two week changeover period in place. Please remember that girls must wear either the full summer or full winter uniform, not mix and match pieces from each. Full summer uniform only is required from the commencement of Week 3 (28 October).
Farewell Year 12’s
One of the privileges of an ELC to Year 12 school is being able to watch our girls grow throughout their educational journeys, many from ELC but also joining along the way, culminating in the celebrations that mark the end of their time as students of Wilderness. We will have the bittersweet opportunity to farewell our Year 12 class of 2024 at the end of Week 2 as they begin their exam preparation time. All girls, from Mamies to Year 11, will form our traditional Walk of Honour line for the Year 12’s, showing them wonderful support and school spirit.
Junior School Assembly/Sports Day
There will be no Junior School assembly until Thursday of Week 3 (31/10), which will be followed the following day with our Junior School Sports Day. More information will be shared in the coming weeks about this event, however for your reference, the day will commence at 8:30am and conclude by 1:30pm. It will be held at the Parklands and parents are most welcome to attend.
New Girls Day
Our New Girls Day will be held on Tuesday 19 November, where we welcome and host all new girls who will commence in the Junior School in 2025 for the day. All girls in the Junior School will spend this day with their 2025 year level teachers before finding out their class teacher on the final day of term. The Year 3 students will host our New Girls Welcome Assembly on this day.
Wilderness OSHC
A reminder that our wonderful Wilderness OSHC Program has places available to support families both before and after school each day. With bespoke programs, nutritious breakfasts and snacks provided and a welcoming and home-like environment, the OSHC is a perfect choice for those families needing extra supervision for their daughters before the school day commences and after It concludes.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Year One teacher and R – 2 Teaching and Learning Coordinator, Kate Snell and our Deputy Principal: Teaching and Learning, Brad Snell, on the much-anticipated birth of their healthy and precious little daughter, Charlie, last week.
Term 4 always seems to move past at an alarming and ever-increasing pace. Amongst the busy days, our little ones have an incredible knack of drawing in our focus and demanding our true presence, enriching our days through our interactions with them and providing a reminder of what a privilege it is to do what we do. I encourage each of you, amid the very busy juggling act of balancing home, work and school lives, to pause and take some of these moments also.
Your daughter’s Term 4 overviews will be sent out at the beginning of next week. The Junior School staff and I look forward to another term of learning and relationships with your daughters and to seeing you across our upcoming celebrations and events.
