Year 10 Pathways Week
This year, we expanded Year 10 Pathways Week by introducing an Industry Immersion Program, followed by three days of Work Experience in Week 10 of Term 3. Students engaged in various industry and university experiences, including half-day visits to Adelaide University, Flinders University, and UniSA, along with three days of work experience from Wednesday 25 to Friday 27 September.
The program aimed to expose students to different industries and higher education pathways, helping them make informed career decisions. During industry visits, students explored key business functions and supporting roles, gaining a broad understanding of career opportunities within the industries they visited.
This initiative was designed to inspire students to consider diverse study options, internships, and careers, encouraging them to think creatively and pursue fields where females are often underrepresented. After their workplace visits, students toured The University of Adelaide, with further visits to Flinders University and UniSA, before transitioning into work experience later in the week.
Notable industry partners included valuable Wilderness contacts who regularly support career department initiatives for the school community. We are most grateful for their ongoing support:
- Rising Sun/UniSA – Anna Hodge
- Woods Bagot – Rosina Di Maria
- Robinsons Aerospace & Fleet Space
- Smart Health – Jenn Guest
- The Crows - Reshma Berggren

The UCAT is required for entry to Medicine and Dentistry at most Australian universities. Students who wish to enter such courses will need to sit UCAT in July-August 2025 as Year 12’s. The best way to prepare for the UCAT is by undergoing distributed practice over several months.
