Exeat Weekend
Our Year 8s participated in the Rube Goldberg challenge, using found or discarded household items to create chain-reaction contraptions. This fun, team-based challenge engaged the girls' STEM learning and all four groups were greatly invested in designing, building and watching their machines in action. Thank you to the Science teachers who organised the afternoon.
REALISE
Core Group 3 were privileged to have three weeks of beautiful sunshine for their REALISE experience. The three weeks were filled with building and strengthening core group relationships and adapting to the challenges faced throughout the program. Some of the key highlights were the views and fear-facing opportunities while rock climbing at Dyuritte (Mount Arapiles), the sections of challenging winds as well as glassy water of the Coorong expedition and, of course, the full day spent surfing in the clear and chilly waters of Long Beach, Robe. The girls developed their learning about themselves, others and the environment, with many students reflecting on their personal growth and newfound independence.

Year 8 Camp
In Week 10 of Term 3, our Year 8s from Core Groups 3 and 4 embarked on their Outdoor Education Camp in Gariwerd (Grampians) National Park. Residing at Roses Gap, an incredible off the grid campsite in the Northern Grampians, the camp featured the students getting out of their comfort zones in many aspects. This included an overnight bushwalk in the beautiful Barigar region along the Grampians Peak Trail and participating in other challenging activities like high and low rope courses, canoeing, initiatives and rock climbing. The girls were also involved in duty group activities, learning vital cooking and cleaning skills which will prepare them for REALISE next year. Throughout the six days away from home, relationships were strengthened, independence was developed and key life skills were learned, creating a highly successful and exciting time for the girls.
