Last week, we celebrated the achievements and contributions of our Year 12s during their final week of school. This special week was filled with a range of meaningful events that allowed us to honour the graduating class of 2023 and provide them with a fitting send-off. As a school community, we are proud of their accomplishments and excited about the prospects that lie ahead for them.

The House Breakfasts on Thursday morning were a resounding success. Each House gathered for breakfast, reminiscing about the Year 12s’ memorable moments shared during their time at Wilderness. The breakfasts highlighted the bonds of friendship and House spirit between the girls.

On Friday, the annual ‘Walk of Honour’ saw our Year 12 students walk from the ELC through the School as a symbolic journey of their time at school. This event is an emotional and heartfelt event which celebrates the support and love our students have from the Wilderness community.

The highlight of Year 12 Leavers' Week was the unforgettable Valedictory Dinner, held at Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 27 October. This magical evening was a beautiful culmination of the students' school journey with their parents and caregivers. The Valedictory Dinner truly showcased the sense of unity and camaraderie that defines our school community. Thank you to Mrs Andrea Petruzella and Miss Bethany Slaughter from Marketing and Communications for their coordination of this very special event.

The Year 12s now shift their focus to the final exams, beginning in Week 4. Good luck to all girls as they prepare to excel in these final exams. We are confident that their diligence and determination will shine through in this crucial phase of their academic journey.

The baton has now been passed to the Year 11s and the 2024 SRC. We look forward in the next couple of weeks to the 2024 SRC first assembly, where they will share their theme for the 2024, and the SRC Big Lunch.

Finally, as we head towards the end of the year, a reminder of some key dates for all Senior School girls. These include:

• Monday 27 November until Friday 1 December: Year 10 and Year 11 Exam Block
• Monday 4 December: Advent Service – St Peter’s Cathedral, 6.00pm
• Tuesday 5 December: Senior School Speech Night – Wilderness Gym, 6.00pm.

Save the Date: 2023 Wildy Film Festival

Showcasing and celebrating the work of our Year 9 Film and Animation and Year 10 Certificate III Screen and Media students, this year’s Wildy Film Festival will be held at The Mercury X Cinema on Thursday 7 December at 7.00pm. Featuring 10 short films across three film classes, the festival includes an eclectic array of cinematic modes and thought provoking pieces, where students have responded to a range of themes and stimuli.

Our guest speaker on the night will be Dr Josh McCarthy, Senior Lecturer of Visual Effects at the University of South Australia. Tickets will be available soon via Trybooking.
