Excitingly, Term 2 in the ELC has commenced with a crash and a bang! The girls have been intrigued and amazed at the building work taking place over the fence, building their new ELC.

Term 2 has had a very successful beginning in the Junior School, with the winter weather providing just the right conditions for the girls as they commence their winter sports and wear their winter uniforms.

After three years of needing to run our Year 8 camp locally, in Week 1 this term we were finally able to return to the remarkable Gariwerd (Grampians) with Year 8 Core Group 1 and Core Group 2 for their Outdoor Education camp.

Senior School

Term 2 is a busy and fast paced term. Last week, the Music department travelled to the annual Generations in Jazz Festival at Mount Gambier. While the weather was very cold and wet (which produced a very muddy location), the quality of the performances by our Big Band 1, Big Band 2, Jazz Choir and Jazz Inc were outstanding.

Term 2 Winter Sport is underway for sports in IGSSA (Independent Girls School Sport Association), and the girls have settled into their teams well with some strong performances.

In preparation for the Generations In Jazz competition, our jazz ensembles presented their repertoire in a ‘preview’ concert to their family and friends on Wednesday 3 May. It was wonderful to once again hold this event—one we hadn’t held for four years!
