School Sport SA Year 9/10 Knockout Touch Football
On Tuesday 9 May, our Years 9 and 10 touch footballers headed to City Touch for Round 1 of the School Sport SA Statewide School Knockout Touch Competition. Guided by Head Coach, Ms Marnie Eddington, the girls had a successful day by finishing undefeated in all their fixtures. They now progress through to the finals day in Week 6. Well done, girls!
School Sport SA Open Knockout Touch Football – Finals Day
After being undefeated during the first round of the School Sport SA Statewide School Knockout Competition, the Open touch footballers were full of confidence heading into the finals day. The fixture was structured so that teams would play full 40-minute games, starting with a semi-final and followed by a grand final or a third versus fourth playoff. First up, we faced Sacred Heart College in what was a one-sided affair where we came away winners. Turning our attention to Marryatville, who won their way through to the grand final on the other side of the pool, we knew it would be a much tougher test.
The girls flew out the blocks, getting a touchdown in the first thirty seconds of the game and a solid defensive effort from that point onwards saw the girls able to play a counter attacking game. They came away with a 8 to 1 win to be crowned back-to-back state champions. Thank you to Mr Brad Snell and Ms Marnie Eddington for their coaching and support of the touch football program.
SAPSASA Cross Country
Congratulations to the following students who ran at the North Adelaide SAPSASA Cross Country Trials on Thursday 11 May. The girls ran well on the day and represented the School with pride.
