King’s Birthday Public Holiday
Many thanks to our boarding families who have purchased tickets, donated prizes, offered to help set up or model for tonight’s Fashion Parade. The support has been overwhelmingly positive.
Once again, all our boarders are involved in some way for the night. While we have most of the girls modelling, there are teams of girls preparing heat packs to sell on the night, and assisting with the raffle tickets, backstage, hair and makeup and sound and lighting.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Rachel Sanderson, former Member for Adelaide and modelling agent, for modelling sessions. By the end of the first session, I could see a sense of confidence and calm in the girls' faces as they had a better understanding of not only what to expect, but how to walk down the runway.
Rachel kindly agreed to attend the final rehearsal and this afternoon for tonight’s show. With her professional mentorship, I am confident the girls will be well-prepared to walk the runway.
Activities & Events
Last weekend, several girls enjoyed making chocolates at the Adelaide Chocolate School on Melbourne Street.
National Boarders Week
National Boarders Week is scheduled for Monday 15 May to Sunday 21 May. Our boarders are planning to host an assembly for the Middle and Senior School on Tuesday 16 May from 8.30am. Thanks go to Boarding Captains, Evie Basham and Milly Shepherd (Year 12) who have been preparing for this assembly. Other activities will be prepared throughout the week.
