First Day of Term 3
To celebrate Boarders Week, we invited boarders to share what they love about boarding. The “Love Wall” gradually built up throughout the week with gratitude and reflections being added progressively. Girls who contributed to the love wall went into the draw for our Boarders Week raffle prizes, including RM Williams caps, Salubrious Hour shirts and Kira Bayliss hoodies.
Something that resonated with me about Boarders Week is that it is a moment for us to recognise the people in our boarding community who make it great. I appreciated the beauty and simplicity in the ways that we acknowledged our community throughout the week. We shared with the day girls at assembly on Tuesday all that is wonderful about the places that we call home through a video of our Australian and overseas homes. We enjoyed regional foods including Browns Barossa Donuts and Fleurieu milks. We shared comments on our love wall, and we said thank you to our staff.
Come to Life with Colour - 2023 Boarders' Fashion Parade
Heartfelt thanks go to all in our community who supported our major event on Friday 12 May. It was a delight to see the confidence of our girls on stage. In the short time our girls worked with Rachel Sanderson, I could see the benefits for our girls in their confidence and style while walking the runway. I am sure that you will agree that all of our girls did an outstanding job. The evening was definitely a team effort.
Last week, we were delighted to see our girls featured in the Stock Journal with an article about our Fashion Parade which was published in the edition that went to print on Thursday 25 May.
Australian Boarding Schools Association
On Thursday 25 May, we hosted the Australian Boarding Schools Association South Australian Committee for their quarterly meeting. The committee, consisting of boarding staff from across Adelaide, enjoyed a brief tour of the School and Boarding House, before meeting in The Chrysalis.
