The return of the REALISE Group 2 girls sees our Year 9 boarders together as a group for the first time in several weeks. The positive experiences enjoyed during the three-week program are evident on the faces of the girls when they return. Boarders are already accustomed to the need for greater independence when not residing in a nuclear family and provide great role models and support to their day peers as they adjust to being away from their families for an extended period. Daisy Lions has provided the following reflection on her REALISE experience.

"Recently, Core Group 1 and 2 went on a three-week camp to our Crawford Campus along the Coorong. During our stay, we learnt about the Coorong and the Ngarrindjeri people while participating in a wide range of activities, such as kayaking, rock-climbing, surfing, bird banding and fish dissections, cow pregnancy testing and many more. For many of the girls, REALISE taught us independence and made us aware that it is possible to live without technology and enjoy being present. Seven of our boarders have been so far in Semester 1. We are sure that the rest of our Year 9’s are excited to experience all that REALISE offers."

Boarders' Fashion Parade

Friday 30 July
7.00pm

A reminder that we are now seeking donations for our live and silent auction for the Boarders' Fashion Parade. donation. The earlier we receive the donations or the promissory notes, the easier it is to be on top of all the organisation that goes on behind the scenes to make the event a success.

As outlined in the previous newsletter, we are looking to have a focus on regional packages for our big live auction items that will promote regional tourism. If you have any contacts or you yourself would be willing to donate to sponsor the evening in any form, please let Rosie Broderick know.

Boarder's Activities

Last weekend's 'Decorate a Mug' activity was a great hit with the girls. They made lovely gifts for friends and family or simply to enjoy their tea from as the weather cools down!

Although no boarders were in the production, many of the girls supported their day school peers and attended the Year 12 play ‘Girls Like That’. It was a fantastic production, with its thought-provoking and 'edgy' script that tackled the very topical issues of social media and women's rights.
