Welcoming our brand-new Reception girls on the first day of the school year is always such a delightful and anticipated event in our community. This year was certainly no different as our girls bounced through the gates in their beautifully pressed uniforms, shiny shoes and over-sized bags. Meanwhile, their often emotional and always proud parents took photograph after photograph of their little ones looking so big yet so little all at the same time.

The girls have settled into school and their new routines exceptionally well, with their teachers, Mrs Brenna Bence and Mrs Melissa Foster, spending these first weeks supporting them to truly internalise a sense of belonging to and within their new learning spaces and the Wilderness community.

Our smallest schoolgirls have taken the biggest of steps, and we look forward to continuing this journey with them as the year progresses.

Junior School SRC Badge Presentation Assembly

It was wonderful to join as a Junior School community at our first assembly for 2021 on the morning of Friday 5 February. The special focus for this assembly was to present our Semester 1 leaders with their badges and certificates and congratulate them as they begin their journey as leaders in the Junior School.

Eva Baggio, Semester 1 Junior School SRC (JSSRC) President spoke beautifully at the event:

This year, I am extremely excited to take on the role of President and strive to be the best leader I can be. To me, being a leader is about being honest, loyal, kind, compassionate, inclusive and hardworking - I want to make sure that we as leaders of the Junior School, display all of these qualities.
Every one of us sitting here today is a leader in our own way and has the ability to guide both younger students in the Junior School and each other to ensure that we have a positive and memorable year.
Leadership isn’t about power, or being in charge, it’s about our actions and being a great role model for others.
I believe that we can all play our part as leaders, to make 2021, and the years to follow, some of the best years ever.
I look forward to working with and getting to know all of you as I’m eager to make some long-lasting memories during our last year in the Junior School. Eva Baggio, Semester 1 JSSRC President
