On Friday 5 March, Wilderness School was proud to host over 170 students from 10 schools for SA’s Alliance of Girls Schools International Women’s Day Breakfast. Led by our SRC Executive, the morning was an informative and optimistic occasion that promoted the 2021 theme #choosetochallange. It also provided a wonderful platform for student leaders to come together and discuss common goals and their plans for the year ahead.

We hope that each girl left feeling empowered to recognise and call out gender bias and inequality. It was an opportunity for all present to celebrate women's achievements and consider their role in striving for a more inclusive world.

As you read through this edition of Life in the Wilderness, I hope you enjoy the many exciting activities that the girls have participated in over the past weeks. Our ‘Wilderness world’ has certainly normalised this year, and we could not be more grateful and proud of the enthusiasm with which all members of our community are engaging in School life.

This afternoon will see our final intercollegiate trophy fixture played against Seymour College. As usual, I am incredibly proud of the sportsmanship our girls continue to display both in and out of the sporting arena.

Next Saturday 20 March, our rowers are set to compete in Head of the River. I wish them the best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements and sharing their results.

I encourage you to mark the date of the 2021 Mother’s Day Classic in your diary. To be held on Sunday 9 May at Peace Park, the event has become an inspiring, community-driven tradition for Wilderness School as we show support for a cause that affects so many. To learn more, please click here.
