The annual Summer Intercol versus Seymour has been in full swing across the last week. In what has been a tight tussle between the two schools, Wilderness has won the Intercol Swimming, Rowing and Basketball trophies, whilst Seymour has taken out the Premier League Tennis, A Grade Water Polo and A Grade Volleyball. At the time of publishing, the A Grade Touch Football and Overall Summer Intercol Trophy are still in contention. The event is always a great showing of school spirit between the two schools, and we look forward to the remaining fixtures. Please see below for detailed results:

IGSSA (Independent Girls School Sport Association) Swimming Carnival
The IGSSA Swimming Carnival was held on Tuesday 14 March at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre. After what had been a big month of swimming, our girls hit the water again. Competitive all throughout the day against tough opposition, the girls finished in third place behind Immanuel College and St Peter’s Girls School. A special congratulations to the Under 14s, who won their age group overall.
South Australian State Age Swimming Championships
Over the March long weekend, the South Australian State Age Swimming Championships were held
at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Marion. The following Wilderness girls qualified to attend with their respective swimming clubs: Arabella Bahr (Year 11), Holly Munro (Year 10), Lucy Beaumont (Year 10), Isabella Beaumont
(Year 9), Asta Mickan (Year 9), Charlise Green (Year 9), Katarina Czechowicz (Year 9), Rose Franz (Year 9), Isabella Dolan
(Year 7) and Matilda Burns (Year 7).
All the girls swam really well and recorded many personal best times (PBs).
Charlise won a silver medal in 14-year-old girls 50m Breaststroke and a bronze medal in 100m breaststroke.
Arabella won gold medals in 16-year-old girls 400m individual medley, 200m individual medley, 200m butterfly and 200m freestyle and silver medals in 100m butterfly, 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle.
Isabella Beaumont won gold medals in 13-year-old girls 100m backstroke, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle; silver medals in 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly; and a bronze medal in 50m breaststroke.
Arabella, Isabella and Charlise will represent their clubs at the National Age Championships in Brisbane over Easter.
SAPSASA Swimming North Adelaide District Carnival
On Thursday 30 March, a team of Wilderness students travelled to the Norwood Pool for the SAPSASA Swimming North Adelaide District Day. In wet and wintry conditions, our girls performed extremely well in their races and have put themselves in contention to represent the district at the State Championships in May. School Sport SA Knockout Touch Football
On Wednesday 22 March of Week 8, the Senior Touch Football team played in Round 1 of the School Sport SA Knockout Touch Football Competition. After being undefeated in their weekly competition, the girls were eager to continue their winning ways. They played three games across the day against Kildare College, Golden Grove High School and Temple College. Winning all the games comfortably, the girls are now through to the finals day.
