The community of Wilderness is financially supporting the building of a COVID-19 Testing Facility at Junbesi, in the Everest region of Nepal. It is based at the Kushudebu Public Health Mission. Local tradespeople have been employed to build the facility, which means that their wages can supplement the income of locals who stay in the region.

The community of Junbesi requested support for this project, and the aim is to have a facility where people with a fever can go, be tested, and stay if they are found to be positive. The tests are being transported to Kathmandu in the ambulance that Wilderness in Nepal supplied.

The work is progressing well – there have been four cases of COVID – 19 in Junbesi, while the medical staff have been vaccinated.

This is an example of our continuing support for our friends in Nepal, and we all look forward to the day we can visit them again.
