Term 2 has commenced with some wonderful student achievements, with the recent success at Generations in Jazz, a particular highlight.
Some recent Senior Student news includes:
Emmy Denys (10) was recently selected as SA Youth Ambassador for The Ballet Society SA for 2024 and the South Australian Representative for the Bursary Finals. Additionally, she will be travelling to Canada in June for the Canada National Ballet Summer Intensive. Pictured with Emmy is Lorraine Irving Gormly OAM (Wilderness Class of 1957).
Xiaoxi (Emma) Li (11) was recently presented with the Certificate of Performance in Piano for Leisure at the AMEB SA & NT Awards Ceremony for 2023 Candidates. Zoe Koerber (11) was also recently presented with the Theory of Music Grade 4 Prize at the AMEB SA & NT Awards Ceremony for 2023 Candidates. This is an outstanding achievement for both girls.
Briege Williams (10) and Asta Mickan (10) have both been selected for the SA Under 15 Hockey Team, which will be competing in QLD early Term 3. Lucia Andrae (11) was named in the U16 SA Hockey Girls Squad and Molly Dwyer (12) was named in the U18 SA Hockey Girls Squad.
Year 12 Hoodies
The Year 12s received their hoodies at the start of term. There was much excitement about their arrival. As a reminder, these are not to be worn with the blazer or to and from school.
Class of 2025 Retreat
Girls and parents of current Year 11s will have received information recently about the upcoming ‘Class of 2025 Retreat’. This will replace the Year 12 Camp that has been held in the first week of Year 12. Our decision to move this event from Year 12, into Year 11 is to provide an opportunity for the girls to engage in a range of events and activities to prepare them for the commencement of their final year of schooling. The retreat will provide space for the girls to bond and develop their collaborative skills, prior to the SRC leadership applications and campaign.
The dates for the retreat are: Monday 29th July – Tuesday 30th July (Week 2, Term 3). More news will be circulated later this term.
Coming Up
We look forward to the Year 11 and 12 Production, ‘Bombshells’, which will be on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd May in Newman Theatre.
Reminders
A reminder that parent jumpers are now available for sale on Flexischools and in the Uniform Shop. There are two designs available for purchase. Wearing your jumper is a great way to support the community and show your Wilderness pride.

Finally, an important reminder about parking. To help keep everyone safe and to extend our respect to our neighbours, we remind parents that parking across resident driveways and in no-standing zones is not permitted. We understand that before and after school is busy, please allow all the time needed to conduct drop-offs and pick-ups safely.
