It has been a long time since we have heard the wonderful sounds coming from the music building, and it was delightful to begin hearing them again this week when our girls returned.

Thank you to all parents and especially the girls for their resilience during this time.

Instrumental and Vocal Lessons

Instrumental and vocal lessons commenced this week, and I thank those girls that undertook their lessons online on either Monday or Tuesday. Lessons onsite commenced on Wednesday, with vocal lessons requiring a mask from both the tutor and student.

We will continue to follow advice on mask wearing from AISSA in the coming week and will provide updates.

Ensemble Rehearsals

All co-curricular music ensembles were postponed over the seven-day lockdown period, with the aim for all rehearsals to resume from Wednesday 4 August.

The following ensembles that are being used for Stage 2 Ensemble Performance are able to proceed, under strict restrictions, as they are necessary for curriculum delivery for our Stage 2 students.

These ensembles are:

Senior Choir (Years 9-12)

Masks are to be worn and rehearsal split into two sectionals.

Tuesday 3 August, 7.30am – 8.00am – Alto 1 and 2
Tuesday 3 August, 8.00am – 8.30am – Soprano 1 and 2

Big Band 1

Monday 2 August, lunchtime
Tuesday August 3, 3.30pm – 5.00pm

At this stage, all other ensemble rehearsals will proceed as normal on Wednesday 4 August. We will follow advice from SA Health and continue to keep our music parents updated as the situation progresses.
