Intercol Ribbons

Lacrosse Players Shine at Wilderness!
Over the past several weeks, Lacrosse players from Wilderness have been doing big things in the Lacrosse community.
Diya Anup Kumar and Isabel Jackson (Year 10) participated in the World Crosse Sixes competition held across Adelaide over the past few months. A huge congratulations to Diya, who was named Most Valuable Player for the tournament. This was a huge achievement, to be recognised as the top player in a tournament alongside some of South Australia and Australia’s most highly decorated players.
Isabel has also advanced to the next stage in the Australian U20 Women’s Squad following the recent selection camps. Isabel is vying for a spot in the U20 World Championships in 2024.
We also have several girls who have been selected to represent the South Australian teams at the U15 National Tournament in Ballarat this September. Congratulations to Layla Woodall (Year 10), Lucia Andrae (Year 10), Rowan Parsons (Year 9), Jessica Felstead (Year 9), Katarina Czechowicz (Year 9) and Layla Balestrin (Year 9).
Finally, our Years 3 to 6 program is thriving here at Wilderness, with our youngest players participating in after school sessions on Thursday afternoons in the Park Lands. We recently celebrated our first term of lacrosse with cupcakes and goodie bags presented to all players at the end of Term 2. Lacrosse continues at Wilderness this term with plans for some interschool games toward the end of the term. Girls in Years 3–6 are welcome to join at any time. Thanks to Wilderness Lacrosse Club President, Craige Andrae for supporting our Lacrosse program in 2023.
