All Wilderness sport teams will be wearing a new sport uniform from Term 1, 2022. New singlets and short-sleeved tops worn with grey PE shorts, will be interchangeable between several sports whilst sports with specific requirements will have their own uniforms as highlighted below:

Summer Sports

• BASKETBALL – Wilderness Basketball singlet, Wilderness Basketball shorts and Wilderness white PE socks.
• ROWING – (no change) Wilderness zoot suit and compression top, Wilderness pink visor.
• TENNIS - Wilderness short sleeved sport top, Wilderness grey PE shorts and Wilderness white PE socks.
• TOUCH FOOTBALL - Wilderness sport singlet, Wilderness grey bike shorts or Wilderness grey PE shorts and Wilderness white PE socks.
• VOLLEYBALL - Wilderness sport singlet, Wilderness grey PE shorts and Wilderness white PE socks.
• WATER POLO – (no change) Wilderness water polo bathers. Wilderness PE polo and Wilderness grey PE shorts should be worn to training and matches.

Winter Sports

• AFL – Wilderness Footy guernsey, Wilderness Footy shorts and long blue socks.
• BADMINTON - Wilderness short sleeved sport top, Wilderness grey PE shorts and Wilderness white PE socks.
• NETBALL – Wilderness Netball dress and Wilderness white PE socks.
• SOCCER - Wilderness sport singlet, Wilderness grey PE shorts and long blue socks.
• HOCKEY - Wilderness sport singlet, Wilderness grey PE shorts and long blue socks.
• LACROSSE - Wilderness short sleeved sport top and Wilderness grey PE shorts, Wilderness white PE socks and lacrosse goggles.

Girls should wear the Wilderness PE Track pants, rugby jumper and or Spray jacket/soft shell jacket for warm-up and cool down activities, no other items are acceptable. The blue Wilderness cap is encouraged for all outdoor summer sports.

Girls may not play inter school sport matches in track pants, leggings, rugby jumper, spray /soft shell jacket or fleece vest/jacket. If a girl needs to cover her legs for religious reasons, grey leggings may be ordered from the Uniform Shop. Orders will take at least 6 weeks.Number allocation

Every girl will be allocated a number that she will use across all sports that she plays at Wilderness from Year 7 to Year 12. Be it AFL, tennis, touch football or badminton, she will retain the same number across all sports.

Orders for summer sport uniforms will be taken during Term 4 and delivered ready for Term 1 summer sport.

Orders for winter sport uniforms will be taken during Term 1, 2022.

Opening Hours

If you need to get some fresh white socks, a new dress or blazer for the end of year events, do plan ahead! All our opening hours including special opening times for the remainder of the year and beginning of 2022 are available on SEQTA Engage Parent Portal.

Summer Uniform Available Now

Most parts of the summer uniform are available in the shop now, with some deliveries still to arrive. I will keep you updated if we have any delays due to COVID-19.

Summer uniform is worn in Term 1 and Term 4, but girls may wear summer uniform in the last two weeks of Term 3 if desired. There is no restriction on temperature. For further clarification on the uniform, please check the Wilderness Uniform Handbook on the Parent Portal.

Bathers and House Polos

The Junior School Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 17 September and the Junior School Sports Day on Friday 6 November. House polo tops are $55 and bathers are $69 and they are both in stock and ready for these events.

Do try on bathers and house polos to check if you need a new size. The shop also stocks ribbon in all house colours, priced at $1.99 per metre. If you know what size you need, House ribbon, bathers and House polos can also be purchased on Flexischools.

Pocket Embroidery

Pocket embroidery will be done during the Term 3 Holidays. Please note this is not for braids. Girls who receive an award should print off their award email and bring it to the Uniform Shop with their blazer by 9.00am Thursday 23 September. If you miss this date, below are the weeks that the Uniform Shop will receive blazers for pocket embroidery for the rest of this year.

Year 12 embroidery will be done in houses. All Year 11 girls will receive an email soon with details about when to bring their blazer to the Uniform Shop for Year 12 pocket embroidery.

Please bring your blazer to the Uniform Shop before one of the times below:

Term 3: 9.00am Thursday 23 September
Term 4: 9.00am Monday 18 October and Monday 25 October

Braids

Stitching on braids is done separately from blazer embroidery. The Uniform Shop offers the services of a dressmaker, Jenny Trotta, who will professionally stitch on braids. Jenny visits the Uniform Shop every Monday at 8.15am during term. More information and prices are available on the Parent Portal. Jenny also offers hems and other alterations to school uniforms. Fleece and Spray Jackets

With the introduction of a new soft shell jacket next year, the Uniform Shop is having a sale of spray jackets for $69 and fleece jackets for $29. Fleece Jackets are available in all sizes, but we only have limited sizes available in the spray jackets. These are child size 8C and women’s size small, medium and large. There is a transition period of just over two years, so these garments may be worn until the end of 2023.
