Duke of Edinburgh Service Activities
The Year 9 Forms have been looking for opportunities to complete their service hours for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh.

Last Week 9 Carob visited Treasure Boxes Warehouse and worked with the volunteers there in the warehouse. The girls were involved in packing toys and dress up clothes for distribution to young children. Girls also helped load these packages into vans for distribution.

The girls reflected on the quality of the donations and the impact that would have on the recipient of the packages. Some of the donated items that are not able to be distributed in packages went to the Baby Boutique Op Shop to be sold and the funds are then used towards their other projects.

If you are interested in supporting Treasure Boxes, please see the information in the images accompanying this article.

Thank you to Lauren Walker and Ebony Jack for accompanying the girls on the excursion.

2025 Outdoor Education Experience and Friendship Preferences
Current Year 7 and 8 Parents have received an email with instructions to complete an online form to record their Year 8 and 9 Outdoor Education preferences for 2025. These are due today.

Girls have received an email to complete their friendship preferences for 2025 Core Groups this week and they are due on Monday.

Over the summer holidays, if your preferences change, please email rgiles@wilderness.com.au so that they can be accommodated before timetables are released. Once timetables are released, Core Groups are very difficult to change.

Oliphant Science Awards
Following the presentation evening, we are proud to announce that Wilderness won 2nd place for the School Prize from Dept of Defence.

The Middle School individual prize winners were Nidhi Sinhal (8 Carob), who won second prize for her Multimedia entry and Shaya Ismail (9 Antholiza) won third prize in the Science Writing category for her article ‘The World in Colour: Examining the Significance of the 'Red Shift'. She was also the recipient of the 2024 Oliphant Medal, an outstanding effort.

Tennis Achievements
Congratulations to Lara Wu on winning the singles championship at J250Rafa Nadal Tour VIC in Bendigo.

Lara and her partner Ana Maric (VIC) also won the under 12 girls doubles Australia Hard court Championship at West Lakes in Adelaide; while in the singles competition she made it to the semifinals of the under 12 girls competition and finished in 3rd place overall.

Best wishes to Lara for the Australian Junior Tour Year End Finals in November.

SLASA Bookmark Competition
Izzy Morgan (Year 8 Antholiza) and Zoe Balnaves (Year 3) won their division of the recent School Libraries Association of South Australia (SLASA) Bookmark Design Competition. Entrants were asked to create a bookmark with the theme ‘Brighter Futures’ to tie in with the Australian School Library Day theme. The winning bookmarks have been professionally printed with Izzy and Zoe’s designs for the advocacy of school libraries in the state and clearly credit them as creators. Each student received a $50 Pegi Williams voucher as well as copies of their bookmarks for their family, friends and school. Congratulations on your win, they look amazing!
