This term has been a memorable one for our Year 12s, marked by special events to honour their journey, culminating in the Valedictory evening—a formal farewell to the Class of 2024. Saying goodbye is never easy, but at Wilderness, it’s never really goodbye. It’s simply a ‘farewell,’ as our students set forth on new adventures.
The term ‘farewell’ holds significant meaning. The word’s origins hint at “setting forth” and embarking on a journey. For our Class of 2024, this is precisely what lies ahead—exciting new beginnings, filled with opportunities to explore and discover. From the start of this year, these students have embodied this spirit with their adventurous nature, kindness, and enthusiasm. From escape rooms to water slides and scavenger hunts, they embraced every moment, reflecting the SRC’s theme of ‘Heart.’
We were joined at the Valedictory by the dedicated Year 12 teachers and other staff who have been instrumental in supporting and guiding these students. For our staff, this time of year is always bittersweet. While we’re excited for each student’s next adventure, we’ll miss their presence at Wilderness.
As our students prepare for their final exams, we want to extend our best wishes for success. We know they’ll approach these exams with the same dedication and spirit they have shown all year.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents, caregivers, and friends who have supported these students every step of the way. Their dedication has made a tremendous difference in the success of our students.
As we wish our Year 12s well, we remind them that Wilderness will always be here as their home, a place they can return to, a place that will remain Always True.
