School Sport SA Cross Country Carnival
A team of 16 girls from Wilderness travelled to Oakbank Racecourse for the School Sport SA Cross Country Championships. In wet and wintry conditions, the girls raced superbly with 6 of our runners finishing in the top 40, further highlighted by an U15 6th place to Caitlin Hardin, an Open 4th place to Sasha Hardin.
As we get to the term break, our teams in Middle/ Senior IGSSA Shield Competitions will use this as a fantastic opportunity to refresh and recharge before the final charge to the finish. Our girls have been competing strongly across multiple sports and some of our teams are really well placed at the break period.

Our annual Winter Intercol competition against Seymour College will commence in Week 5 Term 3 on Monday the 19th of August. A timetable and schedule for the events taking place will be communicated with families. It would be fantastic to have as many Wilderness supporters there as possible to cheer on our girls.
Congratulations
As always we have some outstanding sporting achievements from our girls at top levels.
Arabella Bahr recently competed at the Australian Swimming Olympic Trials. Arabella brushed shoulder with and competed against some of the best swimmers in Australian history. It was an amazing experience and something she was ‘super humbled to be a part of’.
Iris Newman - selected for the State Football Under 15’s Team.
Cate Zander – selected for the State Volleyball Under 15’s Team.
Zara Hill – selected for the State Rugby Under 16’s Team.
We wish these girls all the best in their respective events at State level and can’t wait to share their experience with our community.

Lacrosse News
Yesterday morning, the Gym Foyer buzzed with excitement as the Wilderness Lacrosse Club hosted a breakfast event for our current players. The girls enjoyed a selection of croissants, juice, muffins and yogurt while parents joined us for coffee and tea. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the halfway point in the 2024 season.
A special thanks to our coaches who organised games and activities and helped with food preparation. The U8s, U11s, and U13s joined together with our coaches from Year 10 and Year 11. Our girls are enjoying a fantastic season so far, having now completed their first term of lacrosse.
We are also thrilled to welcome Hannah Gough (Class of 2020?) back from Pomona University. Her return has been a fantastic addition to our coaching team, and her expertise and enthusiasm are greatly appreciated.
Lacrosse continues into Term 3 and new players are always welcome.
