This term, we have had the pleasure of listening to and being enriched by the girls' sharing of their 'Who I Am' holiday projects. This activity is integral to the girls' learning in relation to Outcome 1 of the approved learning framework, which emphasises the importance supporting children to develop a strong sense of identity.

According to the Early Years Learning Framework V2 (p.30), "A healthy identity is the cornerstone of children's learning, development, and wellbeing. Children learn about themselves and construct their own identity within the context of relationships with other children, their families, and communities."

The 'Who I Am' project has been a meaningful intersection of all aspects that contribute to each child’s sense of identity. It has also provided an opportunity for everyone to learn about each other, fostering a deeper sense of community and belonging.

Additionally, this project has given the girls a platform to present clearly and audibly to their friends, who, in turn, have learned to listen quietly and respectfully (which aligns with Outcome 5, 'Children are effective communicators).

Furthermore, throughout all aspects of learning this term, our educational team has been focused on the girls' achievement of their individual learning goals in relation to the approved learning framework and in line with the developmental milestones expected for ages 3-5 years old. The construction of our learning environment, activities, and teaching are intentional and based on the assessment of the girls' learning in relation to the learning outcomes and developmental milestones.

Our ‘Planning for Learning, Development and Wellbeing’ document is always available in each of the locker areas for your perusal, and we look forward to officially updating you later in the term about your daughters’ progress in relation to her learning goals.

We are looking forward to the adventures that await us as we embark on Maths Week, Science Week, and Book Week. These themed weeks promise to be filled with exciting activities and learning experiences that will ignite the girls' curiosity and passion for discovery.

An important reminder that Monday 2 September, Show Day, is a pupil free day at Wilderness School.

Wilderness OSHC will be open 7am-6pm on Show Day for those who need it with special themed programming including our own yellow brick road and many fun activities.

Please book via the OSHC link; https://wildyoshc.fullybookedccms.com.au/family/login

Thank you for your continued support and for sharing in the joy of our learning journey.
