Winter Intercol
Our annual winter Intercol against Seymour is fast approaching, taking place during week 5 this term starting Monday 19th of August.
This year, each Senior A or Premier League match is on a different day so there are no clashes, so we need to see you all out supporting our girls. Seymour is hosting which is why many fixtures are at their home grounds. This is even more important to see as many Wilderness spectators as possible. There is something really powerful about a loud away crowd!
Monday will see our debaters kicking off the week at 5pm in the Seymour Centre for Performing Arts. Hockey will be at PAC at 5pm on Tuesday. Soccer on Wednesday will be at 4:10 down at to Seymour Pitch 1, Netball is 4:10 at the Seymour gym on Thursday. AFL will be 4:10 down the road at park 9 or Bundeys oval on Friday night, with Badminton closing off the week Saturday at 7:45am at the Wildy gym.
Every sport, every grade and every match counts to the overall Intercol score.
All matches will be extremely close, so it is super important that you can get out to as many games as you can to support! There will be supporter busses available for all girls to take to watch away games, and a form to sign up for those busses will be sent closer to the date.
We invite to bring your family members and anyone who has the Wildy Spirit. I can’t wait to see you all there.
Please see the 2024 Winter Intercol Fixture here.
Year 9/10 Knockout Soccer
Last Friday Mr Jackson took our year 9/10 Soccer team to Mount Barker to take on Cornerstone College.
The girls played extremely well and came away with a 12 – 0 win. They now progress to the next round TBC.
Thanks to Mr Jackson for his outstanding coaching as usual.
IGSSA Pink Round Netball
Amber Dewhurst (Co Netball Coordinator)
Last weekend, our Premier League and Reserve netball teams participated in the Pink Round to support Breast Cancer awareness, wearing pink and showing exceptional skill and spirit.
After a tough start to the season, this 6 game round robin style competition against Walford, Immanuel and Pulteney cultivated in some extraordinary results. Our Premier League had 3 Wins, 2 Draws and 1 loss. Whilst our Premier League Reserves had 5 wins and 1 loss.
The matches were a thrilling display of teamwork, athleticism, and determination. Each player contributed significantly, with standout performances across the court boosting team morale. As leaders of the school, our players have exemplified determination, grit, and persistence this year, setting a remarkable example for all the students who look up to them.
We thank our players, coaches, and supporters for their dedication and enthusiasm during the 2024 season thus far. As we move forward, we are excited about the rest of our season and the opportunities it will bring. With renewed motivation and confidence from the Pink Round, both our Premier League and Reserve teams are eager to build on their successes and strive for even greater achievements.
