The past few weeks have had a particular spotlight on our Year 7 girls.

Year 7 Amaryllis and Carob girls have ably led the previous two Middle School assemblies. It was clear that Amaryllis girls were looking ahead to holidays as they shared with us all of the beautiful places in SA that we can visit over the summer break.

Year 7 Carob celebrated our most important School Value, kindness, at our assembly this week and had the entire Middle School contribute towards their ‘acts of kindness’ collage.

In addition, the Year 7 girls have recently been participating in an exciting STEM opportunity. Organised by our Head of PE, Mr Shane Hill, and supported by our Year 7 Maths and PE teachers, the girls have worked alongside members of the Adelaide Crows AFLW team to collect and analyse data and statistics. We will let you know more about this experience in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead to next week, the Creative Industries are excited to share the learning of the Middle School girls in a variety of exhibitions and performances during the Wildy Fringe across the week. Be sure to book your tickets here.

Year 8 girls will also be considering and preparing for next year's leadership positions in the 2022 Year 9 SRC. The girls will hear from this year’s current Middle School SRC and then complete their applications for positions they wish to hold. We are excited to let girls know that there will be a new Art Representative position, created by Chloe Zhao and Isla Marton, who have been leading an Art committee this year and have now formalised the role.

We are also particularly excited to welcome 2022 students for New Girls' Day to begin their transition into the Middle School. On Friday 12 November all girls who will be in Year 7 next year are invited to join us for a morning of activities and on Monday 15 November girls new to Years 8 to 12 in 2022 will be attending a combined New Girls' Morning. Please contact the Middle School Office if you have any questions about these events.

REALISE Camp

The fourth REALISE camp returned from their three-week adventure at our Crawford Campus on Saturday 30 October. Please enjoy the following reflection from Year 9 students Rose Newman and Jasmin Thirlwell.

REALISE is an experience that we will never forget. Over the three weeks we got to participate in many exciting and once in a lifetime opportunities. Some of the highlights include visiting Meningie Area School, rock climbing with the views of Onkaparinga Gorge, watching the sunrise, sunset and blood moon on Expedition, and a spontaneous visit from a wombat. As well as some amazing conditions for surfing in Robe.
Over the course of the experience, we learnt many facts about the environment that we were in and how we can sustain it for the future. We learnt to live with others, be open minded and make many strong relationships. We overcame our fears and became independent young people. REALISE gave us many new memories that will last a lifetime.
