After the disappointment of last week's cancellation due to weather, we were so fortunate to be blessed with a beautiful day to hold the 2021 Junior School Sports Day and celebrate our girls' athletics ability, which they have been developing in PE for the past few weeks.

Congratulations to Sparaxis, who secured both the Prep Cup for Team Games and the House Shield for the Overall House Points.

Antholiza took home the House Spirit Cup for their brilliant cheers and teamwork and India Goodall (Year 6) was awarded the Old Scholars Cup for the highest aggregate individual points. There was a three-way tie for the Old Scholars Cup runner-up, well done to Linah Kafagy, Maya Innella and Angelique Whittaker.

The Individual Year Level Champions for the day were:

  • Year 3: Adeline Wilson. Runner-up: Eliza Dixon
  • Year 4: Angelique Whittaker. Runner-up: Katie Fong
  • Year 5: Linah Kafagy and Maya Innella. Runner-up: Tara Salerno
  • Year 6: India Goodall. Runner-up: Charlotte Matthews

A heartfelt thank you to our parents and supporters and of course to our Maintenance Staff, PE Staff, the wonderful Ms Deb Jarrett, Mr Derek Woodcock and all our coaches and student helpers for your contributions to make today possible.

All Schools Athletics Games

On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October, four Wilderness students competed at the 2021 VIVA All School Athletics Championships.

This is the first meet for athletes to qualify for the 2022 National Track and Field Championships and we are delighted to announce that two of our girls have successfully qualified. Bella Browning (Year 8) has qualified for both the Girls U14 100m and Girls U14 200m events placing 4th and 2nd respectively. Sienna Brown (Year 9) placed 2nd in the Girls U16 High Jump to earn her qualification.

Congratulations to both our qualifiers and we wish all our athletes’ well in their upcoming meets as they look to earn their 2022 qualifications.
