Year 2 Outdoor Education Trip

What a wonderful, busy and diverse time we have had in the Middle School over the past few weeks! Happy Mother’s Day to all in our community who celebrated last Sunday. It was also wonderful to see the support of Wilderness families in the Mother’s Day Classic.

REALISE Group 2 Returns

It has been wonderful to welcome back the second group of Year 9 girls from their REALISE program this week. The girls have had to make a significant shift, returning from the program where they were living independently and engaged in exciting, authentic learning to arriving back to school for NAPLAN testing. Their adaptability has been commendable.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN testing is almost complete, with just Middle School Numeracy and a few catch-up tests to follow early next week. This year was the first time that Wilderness completed the tests online. Thanks to The Hive’s excellent support and the teachers’ efforts in familiarising the girls with the online platform, the experience has been quite positive.

Touch Success

Last week we were so proud of the efforts of our Year 8/9 Knockout Touch Team. They finished top of their pool and will now progress through to the grand final tournament, where the top six schools will compete. Good luck with this in Week 6, girls!

Antholiza Day

We have finished this week with a great deal of fun, supporting a good cause, on Antholiza Day. Today, girls and staff shared sausage sizzles and dressed up for an underwater theme, raising funds to support the Bhadure School in Nepal.

WOSA Quiz Night

Lastly, I look forward to seeing many of our Middle School families at the Old Scholars’ Quiz Night this evening and would like to thank the Middle School girls who will help make the event run successfully.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data

Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on school students with disabilities. The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about support provided to students with disabilities. To learn more about how Wilderness School will be complying with the NCCD please click here.
