Learning to lead is integral to a Wilderness education, preparing girls for full participation as responsible citizens in an increasingly globalised society.
Our hope is that our students will have the personal attributes to lead at any level, both wisely and with compassion.
It is my pleasure to announce the Year 9 Middle School SRC leading us in 2021.

Next week, these girls will be presented with their leadership badges and will attend a planning session with their mentor staff member to set goals and plan their initiatives for the year.
The past few weeks have been filled with exciting opportunities for girls to be busy around water.
It was great to see our Middle School girls throw themselves wholeheartedly into the Swimming Carnival on Friday 19 February, with a win celebrated overall by Cedar House.
Our Year 7 girls have followed this up, having spent this week on camp at our Crawford Campus.
Participating in sailing, surfing, kayaking, and a walk at Tea Tree Crossing, the camp has provided a wonderful opportunity for the girls to challenge themselves outside of the classroom and build upon their friendships. I was fortunate on Wednesday evening to be able to join the girls for a fantastic few days. I am sure the girls are looking forward to returning home and sleeping in their own bed this evening after what has been a fun and fulfilling trip.
Finally, our Year 8 Geography students explored Adelaide’s coastline today from Seacliff to Glenelg on an excursion that allowed them to study coastal features up close.
REALISE
I would like to thank all Year 9 parents who were able to attend the Year 9 Realise Information Evening on Wednesday 17 February.
I know that the girls are looking forward to their very special experience this year, and it was wonderful for Ms Lauren Walker, our Head of Outdoor Education and I, to discuss the program with parents.
I encourage any families who were unable to attend to get in touch before their daughter’s program to ensure that we can address any questions that you may have.
The girls have been preparing for their independent living while on REALISE, through our Artemis program. Girls have been exploring nutrition, budgeting, and cooking skills as they plan and prepare several meals in groups.
I look forward to seeing them develop many new skills as the excitement for this trip continues to build.
Class Representatives
Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to be Class Representatives this year. The Middle School is still looking for parents to nominate for Year 9. If this is something that you would like to do, please email April Ridgway, Director of Communications and Marketing.
The full list of names for 2021 can be found here. We look forward to seeing what fun activities are organised for our families.
